About the Role

The Program Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of social and recreational programs for older adults at our Seniors’ Active Living Centre (SALC). This role includes client services, program scheduling, service provider coordination, and community outreach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate SALC programs, activities, and monthly calendar
  • Complete client intake and maintain accurate records
  • Onboard and support service providers; track contracts and payments
  • Liaise with clients, staff, and partners
  • Support marketing, outreach, and program visibility
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety requirements
  • A full job description is available upon request.

Education & Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Recreation & Leisure Services, Social Service Work, Gerontology, Community Development, or a related human services field
    Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
  • 4+ years’ experience working with seniors and volunteers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Vulnerable Sector Check
  • First Aid/WHMIS (or willingness to obtain)

Ongoing Postal Strike

Due to the ongoing Canada Post mail strike, we anticipate some delays in mail delivery. To ensure your payments and donations are processed smoothly and on time, we kindly suggest the following options:

  1. E-Transfer Payments: You can conveniently pay your invoices via e-transfer to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Please include the client’s name in the message for easy identification.
  2. In-Person Payments: Feel free to drop off cheques or cash at our office located at 215 Sanders Street. We are open Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

If you haven't received your invoice or need any assistance, please don't hesitate to call us. We are here to help!

For those sending donations by mail, please note that they will be processed once the strike concludes, so some delays are expected. Rest assured; cheques postmarked by December 31 will be processed as 2024 gifts.
