There is a lot of uncertainty as Ontario progresses with the lifting of mask restrictions and the renewed sense of optimism it may bring for some. However, for others, this causes concern in populations that are more vulnerable to illness. With this in mind, SCS will be maintaining all enhanced safety protocols in place until June 11th.
Our current safety protocols remain as follows:
- Anyone entering the SCS office or receiving in-person services will be required to wear a mask or face shield
- Covid screening upon entry
- Mandatory proof of vaccination to receive in-person services
If you have symptoms of COVID-19, have a positive test result, or have been in close contact with a positive case, please self-isolate/self-monitor for symptoms (depending on your specific situation) for 10 days. Local Public Health recommends that you not visit any highest risk settings or individuals who may be at risk of illness (i.e., seniors or immunocompromised) for 10 days from your last exposure. Following a ten-day hold (without symptoms), we encourage a rapid test to be done before resuming volunteering or in-person services.
To our volunteers: Armed with optimism and selflessness you responded to our calls for help. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to SCS and our clients throughout this pandemic.
To our clients: Our sincere gratitude for your patience and understanding during this time. We look forward to the day when our centre is humming with the energy, life, and passions that you bring every day.
